In my first blog post, I talked briefly about finding a program that you will actually stick with. Some people can pick one type of program and do it for the rest of their lives...
Apparently, I am not that type of person.
Where did I go wrong?
Remember when I said that thing about baby steps. Yep, I'm not good at taking my own advice. I never did start up my running program and the blogilates schedule was too demanding for a person who struggles to maintain a work/life balance (what the heck is that anyway?)
This is why I have always recommended researching online or at your local library (so you won't end up with a personal workout library collecting dust).
So, what do I plan to do instead?
I really don't know. I found a fantastic site called Nerd Fitness. Yep, it is exactly what it sounds like. I love it, especially this post. While I don't ever think I will get to Staci's level of She-Hulk, I am inspired by her journey. I am hoping to incorporate some strength training using resources from this amazing site (and hopefully see some of the same results!)
I haven't quite given up on running exactly...
Which brings me to these beauties!

I have always had a natural love for running. In fact, I use to race my brother (on his bicycle) up and down the driveway BAREFOOT. In fact, the truth is, if I could do everything barefoot I would. One time during college my friends and I went to a rock wall and I was upset they wouldn't let me scale it barefoot (I have to use my toes, it is a fact).
All of this reminiscing sparked a procession of thoughts to run through my head (the only running I have been doing these days). My running shoes always feel heavy and clumsy and I can never find a pair that fit correctly (Adidas is my favorite, but they always discontinue the good ones!) Then I thought, what about those weird looking shoes... you know, the ones that look like the person wearing them has dipped his or her feet in rubber?
Vibram Five Fingers (see picture above) are designed to allow you to run as close to barefoot as possible while protecting your feet from the nasty, dangerous things in the world (like rocks, glass, dog poo... eww).
Now, I want to go try on a pair before I could even decide if they would even be comfortable. I mean, looking at the separated toes, I am reminded of my younger days and toe socks... not the most comfortable socks I've ever worn. Who knows? Maybe they will be awesome!
Of course, if I decide they are awesome I will have to practice self control and save for a pair

Maybe I will win a pair this month from MyFiveFingers.com!
